VT Consultation and Psychiatry Access Program Impact Report
C4BHI serves as the evaluator for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program (PMHCA) with Vermont’s Department of Mental Health.
In her role as evaluator, C4BHI's Lisa Natkin collaborated with Vermont Consultation and Psychiatry Access Program (VTCPAP) staff to create an Impact Report for October 2023-September 2024.
The VTCPAP supports pediatric primary care providers treating pediatric mental health issues through peer-to-peer consultation and community resources and referrals. The report shares the story of the VTCPAP evolution and development.
Using the data from Youth Risk Behavioral Survey 2023, the report communicates the need for additional capacity for addressing pediatric mental health issues.
With all 1,000 consultations since 2022, VTCPAP staff are supporting providers calling about conditions such as, ADHD, Anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, disruptive, impulse-control, and conduct disorders, and trauma and stressor-related disorders.
PMHCA has offered 63 trainings to over 1200 attendees, such as trauma responsive care, suicide care, and disordered eating.
