Excel Worksheet to Support Strategic Project Planning and Execution

At C4BHI, we value how careful planning and tracking elevates the success of any project.

When writing large grants or engaging in projects, C4BHI uses this high-level planning tool, developed by one of our longtime partner Dr. Robin Brewster.

It is an Excel-based worksheet enhanced with macros to support strategic project planning and execution. It guides users through the process of defining goals and objectives, linking them to key activities and evaluation strategies, and automatically generates a Gantt chart to visualize timelines and track progress.

Designed for clarity and ease of use, the tool helps teams stay aligned, organized, and focused on outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.  We hope you may find it helpful too!

Note: It is necessary to be proficient in Excel before using this tool. Because the file contains macros, you'll need to enable them before use.

After downloading:

  • Right-click the file in your directory

  • Select Properties

  • Check Unblock at the bottom of the popup window before clicking OK.

  • Additionally, the tool must be used on your local drive, as Excel Online (e.g., OneDrive) does not support macros.
